January 27th, 2010: Tuning Clinic

I'm back in the city for a few days to get moved out of my apartment. Sadly, I will likely go five full days without seeing any snow, which should be the longest such stretch I experience until June. This was a perfect opportunity to hit up a free ski tuning clinic at REI to make sure I treat my sticks well all season long. Vince (the one with the apron) ran a tight ship and I'm ready to keep my bases waxed and edges sharp.

This past Saturday I saw someone tearing apart the mountain on a monoski. Not an everyday occurrence. I did some research and found that the Norwegians have taken monoskis to the next level with the Monoski Tandem. If only it came in tele.
