Echo Lake peakbagging began with Flagpole Peak. I joined up with Meyers local Lee, who led the way up the north side of Flagpole, through the Angora burn zone from the fires of 2007.
Precious few clouds were in the sky, though more than I would see in the next couple of days. Tallac stood tall over Fallen Leaf in the foreground and Tahoe in the background.
The snow was a bit crusty on the way down so Lee decided to avoid it as much as possible by airing it out. Did I mention he had steez? And I'm not talking about the energy drink, which is actually quite delicious.
