Believe it or not, the High Sierra Traverse wore me out a bit and I decided to relax in San Francisco for the rest of the week. It was nice to give my legs some exercise of a different sort for a bit by cruising around the city on my bike. The last Friday of every month happens to be a critical mass bike ride, so I hopped on board.
Critical mass cyclists seem to be drawn to great feats of engineering, such as bridges and tunnels. There may be some strange correlation between engineering and cycling, but frankly I think people just like the reverberations of hooting and hollering in tunnels.
The sun had just set by the time the mass reached the Golden Gate, a fitting close to a beautiful ride.
