May 31st, 2010: End Chapter

I'm not really sure if there is a "best" way to spend Memorial Day. What I do know is that getting a few turns, watching the ice melt, and drinking a few PBRs in the sun is a pretty fine way to do it.

And just like that, the first chapter of SnowyPhotos has come to a close. Five months ago I left my job with a few ideas of what I would accomplish in the next five months: ski a lot (mostly in the backcountry), explore new terrain, push my skills to the limit, learn more about snow camping, and get into some reasonably "epic" adventures/expeditions. Somehow I managed to accomplish this all, though I never would have predicted how I came to do it.

In the coming weeks I hope to find time to pull together a few more thoughts, pictures, and maybe even unseen video clips from these five glorious months. When I do, you know where to find them - right here. More thanks will come later, but I also want to give a big shout out to all the people that skied with me, drove with me, put me up, put up with me, or supported me in some other way. This experience would have been a sliver of what it was without you all.

And while it may appear that I decided to have a garage sale, I actually packed all of this gear into my car and hit the road. It's been good.

Holy moley. I turned my back on Snowy Photos for 5 minutes and next thing you know its fricken exploded into a fury of graphic design and sweetness.

Welcome to SnowyPhotos 2.0 Josh.
It's still a work in progress, but will be ready to rock 'n roll by the time I hit the slopes. Stay tuned.

Backwoods.
