Dec 29th, 2010 - Jan 2nd, 2011: Echo Lake New Years
After a few days of warming up on the slopes of Marquette Mountain in Michigan, I was ready to roll out in California. The reports of huge snow were pretty darn accurate. Despite the best intentions of JonnyB, Sara, and I to ski into Echo Lake in broad daylight. Then it turned out that Johnson Pass Road and the Echo Lake Sno-Park weren't plowed yet. Hmmm.... No big deal. We left the car at the end of the road and started skiing, adding a half mile or so to the trip.
The snow kept coming and we were joined by Kevin and Laura, to round out the New Years crew. With temperatures staying down, the snow was light and soft but a few pits confirmed that the snow was still stable. And so we skied...
Below is my first go at embedding a slideshow and I'm seeing what Picasa has to offer. The photos aren't high-res, so full screen may not be as crisp, but hopefully it'll load reasonably fast. Enjoy!
(NOTE: Apparently, clicking anything but the little picasa logo in the bottom right corner will send you to another window. Best bet is to click on the picasa logo twice and then watch click through the slideshow. Weird.)

Things are looking pretty awesome - although I would love to see a touch more beard from Jonny and Kevin. Not even to mention your cleanface, Nardge....
Awesome indeed. Beard expectations are high for 2011, but we are still early. Peak beard growth is anticipated for mid/late February, working towards the always spectacular Mustache March.
