January 3rd - 7th, 2012: Marquette Adventures

Welcome to the 2nd annual High School Ski Trip! For the second year in a row, a group of high school students from Evanston and around were led to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan for skiing, dog sledding, and general winter fun. In its first iteration, there were 6 participants and 3 guides. This time around, we maintained the awesome ratio but upped the participants: 8 participants and 4 guides.

After getting blanked in the Sierras for New Years, it was great to get the first turns of the season in the Midwest. Take that, Cali!
A few of the high school rippers.
Applebee's Apres?
Them dogs were made for running, and that's just what they do.
A walk in the woods.
Skijoring!
Closing up shop with some night skiing at Marquette Mountain.
It was another great trip. The folks in the Upper Peninsula proved once again to be some of the best and nicest around. The snow was great and the group tip-top. If it was a three hour drive, opposed to six, I would make it a regular weekend warrior destination. Either way, it's a great place to visit.
